Akhtar Shoukat Biography 

Name: Akhtar Shoukat

Born: Kabul, Afghanistan

Akhtar Shoukat was born in Kabul, Afghanistan. He has graduated from Ansari High School, and then joined Kabul Polytechnic Institute. In 1987, he moved to India, and in 1989 he immigrated to Canada. He currently resides in the city of Newmarket, near Toronto Canada. He has started learning music with Professor Roneen Chaterji while he was in Kabul for about 2 years, and then he moved to India to continue the study of Indian Classical Music. He has completed the Indian Classical Music Diploma Program, under the Arts faculty of Delhi University in 2 years.

He is considered one of the best known ghazal singers from Afghanistan today. He is not only an accomplished ghazal singer, but an exceptional and seasoned composer as well. His unique compositional pieces feauring the fusion of appropriate Persian ghazals with the aura of Indian classical ragas, has brought a new taste and style in the Persian ghazal singing in Afghanistan. He has released three CDs so far, that he has made available in this Website for listening, and the 4th CD has recently been completed and will be released shortly. He is currently working on a number of projects.

Siyar Bahadurzada Biography 

Siyar Bahadurzada born April 17, 1984 is an Afghan mixed martial artist and reigning Light-Heavyweight Shooto Champion currently fighting at Middleweight. His MMA nickname is "Siyar The Great".

Bahadurzada was born in Kabul, Afghanistan on April 17, 1984. He credits his fighting sense and ability to the war torn and dangerous environment he grew up in. After 15 years his family moved to the Netherlands in 1999. Bahadurzada trains under the Golden Glory association based in the Netherlands.

A veteran of the Shooto Holland organization, he is the 2008,2009,2010 Shooto light heavyweight world champion. Bahadurzada recently made the transition to Japanese MMA by fighting for World Victory Road on their Sengoku events. He advanced to the semi-finals of their Middleweight tournament but lost to Jorge Santiago. His most recent fights have been under the Sengoku promotion in Japan.

On August 27, 2009 Siyar successfully defended his Light-Heavyweight crown in his latest fight against Leandro Silva in Shooto Brasil 13 by way of TKO (Punches) in the first round.

Siyar recently signed a 4-fight contract with Strikeforce.

Khaled Kayhan Biography 

He was born to an artistic family in Kabul. From a young age, he was present in rehearsals of the Kayhan band, and here became familiar with highs and lows of the songs and melodies. He would memorize them an

d play them later on. He entered the Kabul Music School where he started to learn about music under the watchful eyes of experienced music teachers. He began to learn piano professionally based on international notes. In the Music School he was on of the most distinguished students and caught the attention of the well respected musicians of Afghanistan and Iran. Prior coming to Germany at a very young age he became a talented keyboard player. He was playing with the Kayhans and several other popular bands in Afghanistan. He still continues this work at present Since 1992 he has been living in Germany. He continues to attend music lessons. He has been enhancing his knowledge of professional music and he is acquiring the international notes. After graduating from high school, he has entered the School of Audio Engineering in Hamburg. He has become a central figure of the stage when he tours with many famous singers from Afghanistan in Europe, USA, Canada and Australia. He had the responsibility of organizing and directing of albums for many famous singers as well as many young new musicians. His work has become very popular worldwide among many music lovers of Afghanistan. He recorded his first songs "Aiy yar and Baran Baran" in the " Story" album.

Jawad Ghaziyar  is a famous Afghan singer and has been the most influential musician on the Afghan Music scene since the mid 80s, whose albums consist of Pashto, Persian and some Urdu songs and certainly is a founder of a new wave of music in Afghanistan. He is known as the most prominent voice and a revolutionary creative force behind the contemporary music of Afghanistan.

He has been a hit-maker and best seller since the late ‘80s.During the conflict years Jawad Ghaziyar found his fame going beyond the boundaries of his country, reaching out as far as Central Asia, Europe USA and Australia… and gradually the world heard Ghaziyar’s music.

After the collapse of Taliban, the revival of freedom announced by Radio Afghanistan November13, 2001) awoke the city with Jawad Ghaziyar’s song “Aye Melate Ghamdeeda Az khawb geraan barkhez” He was fully introduced to the Western world after showcasing the deserved and kind face of Afghanistan to the world.
